Tournament Highlights

* With the last-minute loss of a player, the team of Farchmin and Altieri added Derrick Miller, whose addition proved to be just enough to take the title by 1 shot over the rookie team of Johnny Ward and Jimmy Dwyer.

* A commemorative t-shirt was included in the entry fee this year. Big thanks to Nick Reddell for his efforts in getting the shirts printed up in time for distribution on the tournament day!

* Big thanks to Bill and Carly Jones for rounding up a great prize selection for the Cup and contest winners for this year's tournament!

Steve English Award of

Steve English Award of "Excellence"

This award is bestowed upon the participant in the field that causes the most problems for the organizing committee each year, be it completely not showing up, oversleeping and missing the first tee time, or anything else that may be encountered in future years. Let's just say that it is NOT an honor to receive this award.

David Dwyer (cancellation at 10pm the night before the tournament!)

Format: Two Man Scramble

We will be continuing the two-man scramble format this year to ensure quick pace of play. Here's how our two-man scramble works:

   * Each member of the team will hit a tee shot (in any order).
   * The team will decide which shot they would prefer to play and then go retrieve the other ball.
   * Each member then plays a shot from the spot of the preferred ball.
   * Continue this cycle until the ball is holed out.
   * There are no gimmes - all putts must be holed out.
   * The maximum score on a given hole is triple bogey.
   * Balls lost or hit out of bounds (white stakes) should be played like a lateral hazard: two club lengths from the spot the ball appeared to be lost, no closer to the hole and a 1 shot penalty.
   * If necessary, playoff will consist of sudden-death starting at hole #1 and proceeding until a winner is determined.

Cost and Payment

The cost for the tournament is $100. Entry fee includes golf greens fees and cart, a commemorative t-shirt, long drive challenge, closest to the pin contest, and a donation to the tournament beneficiary. Please make payment to Don Williams in one of the following ways:

1) Paypal (don.williams@processkonsult.com) or Venmo (Don-Williams-5)

2) Send a check to:
    Don Williams
    14317 Double Dutch Loop
    Parker, CO 80134

3) Or you can bring cash or a check the day of the tournament.

If the entry fee is an issue, please don't hesitate to reach out to Don. We would much rather have you be a part of the festivities than not play due to cost.

Tournament Beneficiary

As many of you may know, Beau Williams, a fellow SME grad, and his family have been through the ringer the past couple of years as their daughter, Lula, was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2016. The latest news as of this writing is that the tumor the doctors found had shrunk substantially, but she is and will be needing continued monitoring, treatment, etc. This is of course a huge burden for any family to deal with, both emotionally and financially, and we have decided that we will be donating this year's tournament proceeds to the Williams family. As in past years, we greatly appreciate any contributions above and beyond the entry fee - these will go directly to the charitable cause.
